I love By the Sword and Promises. The whole album is great, IMO. I only wish that it ran longer. Driving up Ocean Blvd on the seacoast of New Hampshire was ten times better with the top down playing RnFnR. Some of the lyrics were kinda cliche, but the sound was great.

That song confuses me because I really feel like Nicole Scherzinger is what makes it work, without her I think it'd just come across as a generic cheesy rock song, but that just doesn't seem right given all the other people on the track.

By the Sword is good, but Promises and Gotten are just better, hands down. This is not a matter of opinion--but a scientifically proven fact. Dudes in labcoats concur--those two songs kick ass, brah.

I think Baby Can't Drive is great. It reminds me of AFD because Adler's drumming is so unique, along with Slash's guitar playing.
I think all the bonus songs are great. I just listened to them. I really like Sahara feat. Koshi Inaba too. Mother Maria and all these songs make the album even better. Still haven't listened to Paradise City cover, though, probably won't.

Just purchased the CD and it is awesome. What a variety of music and singers. Slash has to know how talented he is and I think we ALL owe Slash a great big "THANKS" and "WOW" to say the least. Slash does not let his fans down.
I have to say it was the sweetest thing when I read his thank you to his wife and children. Slash even exceeded my expectations. By that I mean I knew it would be a great accomplishment for him, but he really gave us what we all needed........some wicked R&FnR!!

Yea I really like Chris Chaney's bassline in the song "Crucify The Dead." It really drives the song. I really like Slash's playing on the song too. edit: oh wait, I think you just mean that you think the live band are hot lol
I think this album has held well over the last two months. I've still been listening to it quite a bit.

I know I have a one track mind but this time it was the music really..
I seen the youtube from the pinkpop and it seem like a good vibe was going on and sounded wicked but I'm so guttied that I won't get to see this album played live..
there is not one track that I dislike on the album Slash has got to feel proud of this album..
edit: bloody spelling

listened several times, so here we are:
Ghost: 7.5/10 an enjoyable track but with a repetitive lyrics, nice atc
Crucify the dead: 9/10 slash made this song in all for Ozzy, one of the Highlights of the record
Beautiful Dangerous: 8/10 fergie, a surprise for me hear her voice in a rock song, love it
Back from cali: 8/10 very very nice song, love the lyrics and how bluesy is in the soul, Myles Kennedy really is in this song!
Promise: 6/10 just because it's Cornell, one of the song that i skip when i got the cd on! don't like how it sounds and why is cornell singin, not for him! i prefer cornell for a ballad
By the sword: 8.5/10 i don't like too much wolfmother but here Stockdale do a fantastic Job. love it zeppelin soundalike
Gotten: 4.5/10 one of the worst song that slash have written in his carreer in my opinion. strumentally is boring and Levine's voice did nothing for make it better
Doctor Alibi: 5.5/10 the initial riff is egual to an old Ramones song, Lemmy's voice is not for a song like that, i' ll see it better in others song in the album.
Watch this: 6/10 i don't like instrumental songs, this is a nice one but with vocals, maybe by Lemmy, will be better
I hold on: 7/10 well kid rock is not a singer that i like but here the song is pretty well, nice combination!
Nothing to say: 7.5/10 mr shadows is new to me but he sing very well here, slash for the first time did something fast and heavy, nice one!
Starlight: 10/10 nothing less to say, this is the best song on the record, myles sings divinelly and the emotion here is higher than ever from long long time since guns n' roses, this song deserve to be a single!
Saint is a sinner too: 8.5/10 Rocco de luca's voice is really the one for this song, a kinda ballad when all you need to do is stand in your bed and let yourself go!
We're all gonna die: 9/10 Iggy, nothin to say about it, really a 70's rocksong with the right guitar sound and the right singer, very nice lyrics!
generally there's good songs but there's something that makes me not so satisfied in this record, some songs ruin the listening process!
