Velvet Revolver to Part Ways With Singer

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Velvet Revolver founding members Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner announced today that they are parting ways with singer Scott Weiland. "This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either," said Slash.  Really, the way I see it, Scott wasn't happy in VR, so he's got to find some place where he is happy. I really hope that STP is that for him. You can only wish for the best for Scott and that isn't VR anymore.

Where I am thrilled to have Scott back in STP and im not complaining by any means, Slash makes it sound as though Scott is being kicked out/fired...I'm under the impression that Scott wanted out and quit, not fired, but time will tell all I suppose.  Oh well, hope they can find another singer to make this thing work...  Best wishes and luck to Slash, Duff, Matt, and Dave.

I was kinda thinking the same thing............April Fools....Where I believe that this in all actuality is true and is where the current state of VR stands, im not 100% sure this is an official statement?  I dont know anything about a lot of these web sites, im guessing this is a well known web site to believe?

This sounds to me legally, the 4 guys had the band and its rights and then "hired" Scott to join.  If that's the case, it doesn't really matter if he was "fired" or "voluntarily left".

From my point of view, it sounds ilke Scott wanted to leave and the guys wanted to continue.  Ok, whatever...

Besides other things, one thing I'm pissed about is that when Adler's Appetite had invited Izzy, Duff and Slash to play at the Key Club, it was reported that Scott had pleaded with Slash to not play because in essence, it would have been or would have led to a Gn'R reunion.  Slash obliged even though I'm sure he was disappointed he didn't get to play with his friends just so VR would stay on in good terms (or to please Scott).  Of course, in addition to many other things, Scott turns around and does the same.

Oh well, I'm excited as hell that THE BAND is moving on!  Rock n'f'n'Roll Lives!!!

I mean yeah, Weiland can be an ass, and yeah he seems to think he's too good for the band but still...I don't want him to leave.
But on the other hand, STP are kinda cool. And at least VR aren't breaking up.

Well if its the best for the band i guess i can deal with it. I can only wish scott all the luck in the world when hes with STP and i hope he doesnt screw it up but has some fun with his old band. As for VR...i rly hope they find someone suitable for VR and that they go on to make some more kick ass music!

I guess on the a good side there will be two kick ass rock n roll bands on the planet!! and maybe i will see on of my fav bands ever live since i was too young in the 90's!    take me a few days to get over it! i have an emotion connection to VR. being the only band i rly love who are still going i went and saw them live twice (my first gig) and from then on i went to see bands i just like. Rly they got me into music!   ROCK ON VR!

Sorry for those who are bummed.  I liked VR enough to want to have them go on with SW, but I think I'm even happier now that they are going on with someone else!  I see a bit of down time for VR and then they'll get it back up.  Then, it's going to be a fun ride!  Can't wait to see who the new guy is (unless it's Cornell, Grohl, Brett Michaels or the other ridiculously suggested names)!
